Astrid’s life hasn’t been easy since she ran away from her Welsh home as a teenager. Now, a tattoo-laden future doctor, with a questionable and mixed-up past, she has no choice but to seek the help of Thomas Sharpe; a strait-laced young lawyer from one of the most recognized law firms in Seattle. With no idea what to expect from the petite, denim-clad woman in biker boots and a leather jacket, he agrees.

Born in Athens Greece, to a Canadian Father and an English Mother, Victoria Gates, she is the oldest of two children and spent her early years traveling across Asia and Europe, following her father’s career; until she and her brother hit school age, at which time her family settled in Nova Scotia, Canada, where she currently resides today.
Despite maintaining her Canadian roots Victoria’s childhood was spent straddling what she considers her two homes, Canada and England, spending many a summer in England with her cousins, aunts, uncles, and maternal grandparents, growing up with a strong sense of culture and family.
Victoria Gates has always tried to get the most out of every opportunity that has been afforded her, including while she studied Commerce at Saint Mary’s University, having the opportunity to spend a summer in Angers, France, developing her French language skills and before the pandemic she also spent time teaching English in Ratchaburi, Thailand, during which time she spent her weekends getting out and exploring the beautiful country and all it had to offer. Unfortunately, the experience was cut short due to the outbreak and having to return home before the borders closed.
Writing wasn’t always easy for Victoria growing up despite her over-active imagination and penchant for telling wild tales. She struggled with reading and writing, it wasn’t until middle school when her love of reading kicked in that she started to make strides and show prowess in writing. Eventually landing her in advanced placement English classes by her final year of high school, and completed her first manuscript ‘Mari-Gold Blooms’ by the age of nineteen.
Victoria currently earns a living working for a telecommunications engineering firm not far from where she lives. Despite that, she is
never too far from a pen and paper, as the ever-present ink marks on her hand will attest to and she’s actively working on her next project. When she is not working you can find her reading in the company of her dog Charlie, and some good music.
